To help us reproduce a problem, include your macOS version, the app version (Project Converter Pro ▸ About), and if you can, the XML file that didn't convert. Remove anything confidential first. The file only contains the timeline, not your media.

Troubleshooting

Media shows as offline

The converted timeline points at the same media paths as the original. If the media moved or lives on a disconnected drive, reconnect it or relink in the target app (Premiere Pro: Link Media; Final Cut Pro: File ▸ Relink Files).

"The timeline was simplified"

The two apps don't support the same features. The app lists every item it had to change, such as transitions that became straight cuts or effects that were left out. The rest of the edit is intact.

The file isn't recognised

Check that it's a Final Cut Pro XML export or a Premiere Pro "Final Cut Pro XML" export. Other XML files, like project settings or DaVinci Resolve's own formats, aren't timelines the app can read.

Conversion failed

Re-export the XML from the source app and try again. If it still fails, email us the XML and the error message shown in the app. You can select and copy it.

System requirements

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
